Words that you may see about trains

Both Vienna and Berlin use the word "Hauptbahnhof" to name their stations. This word simply means "central station" or "main station."

This word means the same thing as "subway." For example, Paris's subway system is called the Paris Metro.

This word means "faster." For example, in the NYC subway system, there are express trains, which pass some stops without stopping.

Local trains are the opposite of express trains. This means that they stop at every stop on the route. NYC has both express and local trains, which makes this system very unique.
