Trains are big boxes on wheels. More specifically, trains are large engines that have eight wheels. Some trains are electric; some trains use diesel power.
Electric trains require a lot of power, so they usually use overhead lines, where the train uses a wire to reach overhead electric lines. Other electric trains use electrified tracks, where the tracks include third rails that carry electricity. Metro trains usually use electrified tracks, while long range trains use overhead lines.
Diesel trains burns diesel gas, which moves the wheels. These trains have a lot of power, but they don't go very fast. That's why freight lines use diesel trains: they don't go fast, but they can pull long lines of freight trains.
